PERSON-CENTERED SUPERVISION

Focuses on the experience of the therapist and on the growth and development of the supervisee's therapeutic ability through the supervision relationship. We encourage exploration and reflection of the therapist's experience and presence in relation to clients. Through supervision we support the collaborative enquiry of theoretical understanding in relation to particular clients and their understanding in the perspective of their own culture and social framework. Supervision provides a growth-promoting setting that enables and encourages the supervisee to find his or her own style and identify areas for exploration and development. Supervision encourages the growth of consciousness in respect of self and receptivity towards the experiencing of clients. Through supervision we aim to provide an open, non-judgmental and empathic environment that is both questioning and supportive, encouraging the development of congruence.
