HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy is an extremely
useful option to consider when treating phobias, panic attacks and performance
related anxieties. While not replacing counselling or psychotherapy,
it can often "cut corners" by guiding us directly to the underlying
cause that is giving rise to the presenting problem or symptom.
The philosophy behind hypnotherapy
affirms that the unconscious mind plays a major role in our lives. This
role is always supportive in intent, but is often misunderstood because
the unconscious does not "think", or reason, and instead reacts
on the basis of past experience.
While light trance states
are relaxing and therapeutic in their own right, they enable us to communicate
directly with the unconscious and work with it to create more effective
and life-enhancing programmes.
